Louise Hayman

I am a psychoanalyst in private practice in London. Over recent years I have been attached to the Adult Trauma Service at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust where I have had experience working in trauma-informed psychotherapy.

I qualified as a psychoanalyst after a International Psychoanalytic Association accredited training with the British Psychoanalytic Association. During my training I worked within a busy NHS psychotherapy unit for six years.

Apart from traditional psychoanalysis, which might be on the couch and more than one session a week, I have also worked psychoanalytically (that is, looking at deep unconscious motivations and patterns) with patients in other environments. These include a low fee psychotherapy organisation and in a service providing remote psychotherapy to workers and other people in conflict zones.

I offer remote therapy online or over the phone as well as in person in my consulting rooms in Angel, Islington, North Central London.

As a psychoanalyst I am regulated by the British Psychoanalytic Council, the primary professional body in the UK recognised by the Professional Standards Authority to maintain standards in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling.

I welcome enquiries from anyone who would like to explore whether trauma-informed therapy might be helpful for them, as well as anyone else who is searching for a therapy in which to look at the deep roots of their difficulties.
